**Take Vitamin C every day and/or drink lots of orange juice!**
Beware, too much vitamin C can cause gas.

Take a decongestant.

I don't think there is a quick cure for colds, even Doctors will tell you that.
But I have found that alka seltzer plus cold medcine is the best I have ever used.. you can get it in a seltzer pill or in liquid, and also pills..
you will FEEL better even if you still have the cold.

There are anti viral medications but you really don't want to be sick enough to have to take them.

Your best bet is to eat loads of citrus vit c containing foods, like oranges, sweet bell peppers, broccolli, and eat some chicken soup. Hot pepermint tea will help lossen up your congestion.

you may not thing it will help but it will.

For the congestion and misery ask the doctor to prescribe some tylenol 2 with codeine. Codeine will take down the cough and help you sleep and not feel so much pain.

Take care hon.

Colds have to run their course, but, drink plenty of hot liquids, and get lots of rest. There are several cold medications on the market that you don't need a prescription for, and nose sprays as well.

Drink lots of fluids. Use a nyquil/dayquill thing to give your body a bit of a helper in healing. Get lots of rest. Catch up on some CSI or something.
