Diabetes & haematopoietic abnormalities (Thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, and anaemia): All present difficulties for piercing, because they reduce the bodies ability to heal wounds properly. In the case of Diabetes, it has been well established that wound healing is impaired in people with Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetics' experience reduced collagen synthesis, impaired wound contraction, and delayed epidermal migration. An increased incidence of infections in diabetics may also contribute to impaired wound healing, hypoglycemia-induced leukocyte dysfunction and vascular insufficiency are believed to be the possible causes for this increased infection rate

Yes, but only if their blood glucose levels are under control and they do not have poor circulation or poor wound healing.

They also must take proper steps to ensure the piercing does not get infected. That means being vigilant about keeping the area clean and using the antibacterial solution and/or soap given.

Do not use Polysporin on a piercing, as the wound needs to heal from the inside out. Do not use alcohol, as it will dry out the surrounding tissue, which you need as a barrier to infection.

If the piercing becomes inflammed, red, painful, or hot to the touch, you will need to see the doctor for possible antibiotics, and possible removal of the piercing. If you develop an infection, it will cause your blood sugars to rise, affecting healing. Not a good cycle.

Most places will not pierce a diabetic, or will require a doctor's note allowing permission if you inform them of your condition.

If you are planning a piercing, keep you blood sugars in a healthy range PRIOR to getting the piercing, and be prepared to work hard to keep them in tight control until you heal.

Yes, we can have our ears or ear pierced. It just takes longer for the piercing to heal. I had my ears pierced many years after being diagnosed as a diabetic and 5 years later they have finally healed to a point where they no longer get infected and I can wear earrings made of other metals besides pure gold.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I don't take shots, but it depends on who's doing the piercing. If you are doing it at home, obviously make sure that everything is sterile. Use an ice cube to chill the piercing site. It will numb it a bit for you. In the stores, they swab it, then load the gun and squeeze. Happens quick. Most times, it doesn't hurt. Belly button piercings CAN hurt though. Be certain you keep it clean and alcohol both the piercing and post regularly (daily as a minimum). You don't want an infection!
