I have seen a lot of scams in the past, and that seems pretty blatantly like a scam. Here's the thing, a cure for herpes would mean curing a virus inside of the body. That would single handedly be the biggest medical breakthrough since the discovery of anti-biotics.
Unfortunately, it simply isn't the case. Your doctor is right, and there isn't a cure for HSV 1 or 2, and there isn't a way to cure any viral infection within the human body at all currently.
There may be a cure for viral infections someday, but I promise you, once it is discovered, we'll hear about it. Afterall, there would be a LOT of money in curing the common cold, and if the government is willing to spend billions on billions of dollars to fight the war on terrorism, what makes anyone think they wouldn't be willing to throw a couple hundred million up to abolish disease?
