Vegans do not eat eggs. Some vegetarians do. I am a vegetarian because of health reasons, idiot. I don't really care about killing animals. Chickens and cows and other animals raised for food are pumped full of all kinds of crap that I do not want in my body on a regular basis. How do you think the chickens lay so many eggs? It isn't natural. I eat eggs, but only certain brands that do not use chemicals and that do not cage the chickens up in tiny little crates.

Short answer, no, vegans don’t eat eggs or any animal products.
They just don't eat any cake etc made with eggs. You have to realize, such things as eggs, meat, dairy, were all pretty expensive in the past. These days the governments give subsidizations to the producers to artificially lower the price. Only in recent times have non-rich people been adding eggs, milk, etc. to so many recipes such as cake that traditionally were made without.
Honestly, just from a financial point of view, I don’t know why people make cake etc. with eggs and milk, that’s expensive compared to just using water and another plant based binder if needed. We make egg-free cake cookies and banana bread (which is just like cake) etc. all the time and they are not falling apart without egg.
Plus, if needed, there are probably 100 different kinds of binders out there other than egg. Just due to cost, most manufacturers avoid egg and dairy these days and use such things guar gum, or xanthan gum or other such binders. As a rule of thumb, you can replace every egg in a cake recipe with a banana. It works as a binder, I’ve tried it. A little ground flax seed works too.
Anyway, you get the idea, there are lots of binders out there other than eggs.

eggs that are sold at the store never had a baby chick in them. they were never fertilized. vegans dont eat eggs because of the terrible way egg making chickens are treated. most vegetarians eat free range eggs because the chickens are treated much better. apple sauce and fake eggs can be substitutes.

Vegans do not eat any animal products or by-products. This includes eggs. There are quite a few brands of vegan premade baked goods that are available at Whole Foods, Wild Oats and other health food stores. At WF and WO you can even order vegan cheesecakes and birthday cakes from the bakery.
Vegan online communities like VegWeb.com offer loads of recipes for those who prefer to make theirs from scratch. There are also my personal vegan "bibles", the cookbooks La Dolce Vegan, The Garden of Vegan, How It All Vegan & Vegan Vittles.

I am not a vegan but I am a vegetarian and I do eat dairy products. They do have substitute dairy products though. But ne way, chickens lay eggs without mating so they are not fertilized eggs no chicks are killed in the process. Well.. actually I am not sure how the factories do it but I don't think they mate their chickens. So if they don't then they aren't killing anything.

Most foods have eggs in it? Umm..no..that is not true. Grains, beans, veggies, fruits never had eggs in them. MANY whole natural foods do not have eggs. Cake is not food exactly.
