Sounds like you are doing what you can. Maybe try putting some Vicks Vapo Rub into a pan of boiling water and then breath the steam up into your sinuses, that may relieve some of the pressure. Have you tried just going to a walk-in clinic instead of your own doctor? Just a thought, you may have to wait awhile, but you will eventually see a doctor and if you do have a sinus infection, he can give you antibiotics to at least get you through the holidays.

This may be old fashioned but the chicken soup really does work to make you feel better. Drink lots of liquid so flush the germ from your system and lots of rest. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be good by Christmas. Also carefully read each answer here, they all have great advice.

Make sure the tea you're drinking doesn't have caffeine, as caffeine dehydrates you. Herbal teas are naturally decaffeinated. I feel better after drinking decaf green tea. Lots of antioxidants in green tea.
I also eat a clove of raw garlic every day til I get better (also has high levels of antioxidants), and I'm always better in 3-4 days. I know this isn't to many people's liking, so you can try garlic pills, too.
Hope you feel better soon!

Echinacea
3 to 5 capsules of echinacea root 3 times a day for 5 full days and no longer. Do this as soon as you feel the cold coming on. Nose irrigation and wash those hands.

Vit.C 500 mg 3 times daily. Hot shower to loosen your sinuses...and yes chicken soup....an amazing antidote. Keep the pain barrier back....consistent tylenol...before the pain becomes bad again. See a Dr. if mucus is greenish...you'll need an antibiotic. There are always clinics open.

put a dash of Vicks Vaporub into a quart of water and heat it to almost boil...then take it off, and put your head over it draped with a towel. If you get dizzy come out. Try to breathe thru the nose. Keep the house humidity up with cold steam vaporizer.

Zycam, it works. You can get it at any drug store and most supermarkets. If you have a sinus infection you will need a course of antibiotics. Merry Christmas!

Zinc and echinaccea. You can get Zicam at a pharmacy that will help to lessen the time the cold has a hold.

Hopefully someone comes along with some advice for ya:)
My advice?? Just hang in there...I don't think you can do much more. I know it sucks! Just keep doing what you are doing and try to get a bit extra sleep.
