If you are obese and you never had asthma before, you know what you have to do. Lose weight. Be truthful with yourself.
The above answer is so totally wrong. Sure allergies can cause asthma but so can a lot of other things like cold air and being overweight or smoking.
I developed terrible asthma in the 4th grade and was allergic to quite a bit, I also lived with a mother who smoked. I suffered until I moved out of her house. Now at the age of 42 really the only thing that affects my breathing is cold air, it can zap me into an attack with only a few breaths.

First, Asthma is an allergy in it's worst form. You are allergies to things and this causes your bronchial tubes to become inflamed and swell causing you to be short of breath and unable to get enough oxygen. No amount of practicing of breathing will stop the Asthma. The only thing that may do is help you with the panic that may come with not being able to breathe and the fear when you have to pull for air. You have to prevent the attacks with good control of the disease using nasal sprays, which prevent and inhalers which help directly hitting the bronchial tubes and allergy medications that keep it under control. You can do other things like keep all bedding and common areas clean, vacuum the mattress, wash the pillows. Keep your sleeping area clean of dust, animals and anything that you are allergic to. Keep your windows closed, use Air conditioning and keep all filters washed and clean. Do not use carpet, it is very bad. If you have it keep it vacuumed very often and cleaned professionally or with allergy shampoo. Avoid all things possible, that you are allergic to. Take your medication as prescribed. Cover your face when going outside in extreme cold or heat. Keep car windows closed, use AC and keep dust out of car and home. Use locally grown honey, it builds up your immune system to local plants naturally. My daughter is asthmatic and has been since birth, though it took 3 yrs. to get it diagnosed. She is 27 and has little problems now. It's better to grow out of it. The older you are when you get it the less likely this will happen. More and more pollution is in our air and more people have Asthma than ever before. Good luck. Remember you can also use plain saline nose spray to keep allergens out of the nasal passage to help without the prescribed meds. But, this is really the preventive and taking all meds when you are in the seasons that make you flare up is crucial. I wish you luck, love coming your way. I hope I have helped some.

I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.
I cured my Asthma the natural way?

I don't believe that you can control your nostrils or breathing for very long, and certainly not long enough to improve or get rid of asthma complications. Breathing is controlled autonomically and subconsciously, so you can only temporarily affect this.

Asthma has to do with an inflammation of the airways deep inside the lungs. Controlling your breath will have little effect on it.
