Any of the oriental supermarkets in any of the large cities or towns will carry it. Alternatively, look for a short grain rice. In a pinch even a plain risotto rice will work.

well, I'm a HUGE fan of sushi, and meat (no offense), but if you want good tasting sushi it won't be bought at a market. The best sushi is expensive, but AMAZING and can be found in the small family-run sushi restaurants. The place i go to is so amazing because the owner wakes up at 4:00 am EVERY DAY to get fresh fish from the fish market. He makes the BEST sushi! :D

It is basically short grain rice. All supermarkets sell this. Just a question of names. Good luck.

They call it "pudding rice" and you can get it in most supermarkets but they hide it with the cake ingredients not with the other rice.

Hi bliblo,
I dunno which supermarket for i am not living there. but you can substitude it by mixing rice grain (any grain thai's or chinese or vietnamese, etc as long as rice) and white glutinous rice.
The composition is 2:1 (2cups rice : 1cup glutinous rice)
if you'd like it a bit more chewy you can do 1:1 ratio.
