If your baby is very young, newborn-4 months or so, it is best not to do too much for him/her. Babies get stuffy noses often. It could be too dry in the house. You could use a humidifier to moisten the air, making it easier for the baby to clear out his nose naturally, If he is a little older, you can try saline nose drops. You can purchase these at the drug store. Just add a drop or two to each nostril and the stuffiness should take care of itself within a little while p.s. you can also make your own nosedrops by adding a little salt (about 1/2 teaspoon) to about 1/2 cup boiled and cooled water. Ten use an eye dropper to put the drops in baby's nose

Buy a bulb syringe. They sell them in pharmacies. when you a re using it, press the bottom and hold it as you enter the nasal opening and then release as you come out. Do not press the bottom af ter entering the nostril otherwise you will be blowing air into the baby nostril. press the bottom before and release as you come out. You will notice some nasal secretions a lot or a little. Do that each time you hear the breathing is noisy. Be careful with babies because most of their distresses are respiratory. If the breathing is still labored after twenty four hours take your child to the pediatrician.

You really need to flush out the nasal cavity with Saline. They make a self propelled saline now, where you turn the baby on his side and squirt it up one nostril and it will come out the other. In the hospital they would use a syringe full of saline and really squirt it up there, then they suck it out with a vacuum. I have the best result when she it in the tub, steam up the bathroom, and that loosens everything up. Try to give her a bath and flush out the nose right before bed time. Good luck! The baby will hate having it done, but will be grateful once you are done.

The best way is to get a humidifier. My nephews had a lot of problem with congestion. We got a Vicks Humidifier and some of the Vicks humidifier liquid. Just a little bit of this in the humidifier helps a lot. I know that this is safe for all ages because the doctor suggested one when my nephew was only 2 months old. Just remember to keep it out of reach! Good luck

Get some of that saline called Little Noses and put some of that in each of your baby's nostrils and suction out each nostril with a bulb suction, preferably the one you got from the hospital when you had him/her (because they work better than the store bought ones).

Get one of those snot suckers. they look like small turkey basters. Make sure not to blow up their nose, but to suck the snot out.
