From oral sex, yes, there's less risk than from regular sex but it's still possible. Those things will of course prevent pregnancy but you still exchange bodily fluids. Hand jobs will *probably* be okay if you don't have any cuts or scrapes in your skin, but if you are serious about a relationship and you have been involved with other partners, get tested anyhow.

Yes, you can get STDs from oral sex. Usually genital herpes becomes oral herpes. Hand Touching is a little more difficult but also possible. Make sure you use a condom, even with oral sex, and wash your hands after physical contact. Good Luck, and remember there are no dumb questions, only impatient people.

you can get almost all the stds of vaginal sex as you can with oral sex. It's also easier for girls to catch stds then guys.
For hand jobs you can contract HPV. HPV can be spread by rubbing genitals together, touching self then partner, oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, it's one std that is very easy to spread.
the seriousness of stds depend on which one it is, but really, should you be mature enough to handle anything intimate liek this if you're comparing how serious an std is?
before doing things, get tested, have your partner tested, then use protection.

You can get them from an infected person through direct exchange of bodily fluids, this can even mean having a small cut on your skin or mouth and performing oral sex.
Most STD are FOREVER, let me say this again FOREVER!!! once you get them, they have no cure, only treatment.

technically, all of these are possible ways to get STDs. If you want to be as safe as absolutely possible, stick with one partner and get both of you tested for STDs. Then just make sure that you can trust your partner as much as you can.
How serious would as STD be? Depends upon what you think is worse... terrible pain and sores and oozing out of things that should be oozing, and maybe permenant disfigurement..... or just getting AIDS and dying. I guess that's how "serious" it would be.
