Hi everyone,

For awhile I had vaginal discharge and itching and I went to see a doctor, who said it was either BV or trichomoniasis. She put me on Flagyl which was supposed to take care of either.

I had unprocted sex with my partner and the infection returned. At this point I knew it had to be trichomoniasis. I went to the doctor again and she put me on Flagyl again. My boyfriend and I occasionally had sex with a condom. The infection symptoms were definitely reduced, but did not go away completely.

His doctor treated him for Trichomoniasis, and I went to a different doctor who told me that's "definitely what it was" while doing a pelvic exam.

Here is where my question comes in. My boyfriend has taken Flagyl, and I am taking it. I have been taking it for one week plus using gel suppositories my doctor gave me.However, I still am having a lot of thick discharge with a slight oder, but no itching. Should it be gone by now? I have not had sex. condom or not, in over a week.

These symptoms are going to continue no matter what you do. I have been going through this for years with my partner. we both have been treated we used non-lubricated condoms and still i keep getting this stuff. i am at point where i just don't do it anymore. I was never told i had trichomoniasis, it was always diagnosed as bacterial vaginoisis. do not take baths with bubble soap this can cause infections. Also if your partner is not circumcised this can cause an infection if the skin around the penis isn't pulled back and kept clean. Also try taking herbal supplements like olive leaf extract and milk thistle, and garlic pills every day to help keep the infections under control. Also google bacterial vaginosis. lots of luck. P.S. ask your doctor for a vaginal cream to use for after each time you have sex.

FIRST OF ALL, JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE RE-INFECTED DOESNT MEAN IT WAS TRICH.' BECAUSE, BV(BACTERIAL VAGINITIS) CAN ALSO BE TRANSMITTED BACJ AND FORTH SEXUALLY. I REALIZE YOU WERE BOTH EXAMINED....I JUST WANTED TO CLARIFY THAT FIRST STATEMENT YOU MADE. SECONDLY, FLAGYL (METRODAZOLE) IS A SERIOUS MED.....WITH SIDE EFFECTS,..ESP IF YOU DRINK AT ALL EVEN UP TO 1-2 WEEKS AFTER LAST DOSE.
LASTLY, IF YOU ARE STLLL EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS AND YOU HAVE BOTH BEEN TREATED......I WOULD QUESTON OTHER S.T.D'S.
FOR INSTANCE CHLY/GC....BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY FOR THESE. OFTEN MEN WONT EVEN EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS.
YOU NEED TO TAKE CHARGE"STAT" YOU DON'T WANT YOUR REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM, TO POSSIBLY BE IRREVERSIABLY DAMAGED BY A SERIOUS INFECTION.
~~~CALL DR. NOW~~GOOD LUCK
Most Dr. would treat their patient (you) and send you home with medicine for your partner...odd your didn't.
Sounds like you should see another Dr.
Stop re-infecting yourself. No unprotected sex for the duration.
