YOU HAVE TACHACARDIA , THIS IS A BIG FANCY MEDICAL TERM FOR FAST HEART BEAT. AT YOUR AGE IT SHOULDN'T BE HIGHER THAN 90 UNLESS VERY ACTIVE. ANXIETY COULD BE A POSSIBLE FACTOR,.....I WOULD QUESTION EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT BE A STRESSOR IDENTIFY AND EVALUATE WHAT YOU CAN ELIMINATE!!
MOST ASUREDLY, I WOULD REQUEST A ULTRASOUND OF HEART, AND AN EKG. TO ELIMINATE ANY SERIOUS IRREGULARITIES, ENLARGEMENTS, OR STENOSIS OF VESSELS.
GOOD LUCK...............MAKE SURE YOUR DR. DOESN'T DROP THE BALL ON THIS. IF IT CONTINUES ...OR WORSENS ESP. WITH ANY ACCOMPANING SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR TIGHTNESS IN CHEST .....HAVE SOMEONE TAKE YOU TO NEAREST E.R FOR A COMPREHENSIVE EVAL. OR CALL 911

The adult range of heart rate per minute is between 60 and 100. Some people that are very athletic and in great shape may have a lower heart rate than 60. Anything over 100 is consider tachycardia and if it gets really high, such as above 130 it can be dangerous. hope this helps!

Don't take this the wrong way but....... if your on meth, quit it now. Then go back to the doctors. It seems kind of odd that the doctor would just send you away and tell you to come back in a month. I'm thinking that if he said that then it must not be a big concern. And when you go back if you dont get the answers that your looking for, find another doctor. Maybe a specialist. Good Luck!!!!!

Tachycardia means a fast heart rate. The normal adult heart rate, or pulse, ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute. A heart rate that continues to beat above 100 beats per minute is called tachycardia.

Tachycardia can occur naturally, for example, when you are exercising. It can also be caused by serious, life-threatening heart problems.

resting heart rate should be under 70 and near 67 or lower at your age. yes panic raises heart rate.
how much and what kind of stress are you under?
are you over wieght.
do sleep with 2 pillows to prop you head higher than your heart.
do sleep on your left side, your heart funcions best on that side when sleeping.

I would have Mom take me back to the doctor and or go to ER
this is not good.

it's worse if you eat-- not a good sign
it's worse when you lie down-- instant alarm that heart is not able to handle that load, people with heart problems do not put your hands above the level of your heart or your arms.
and prop yourself up in bed.

GET to the doctor and tell him what you told us!
worse when you eat, lie down and it's going on for 3 days, and you cannot wait a month, and Firday is last day before holidays.
Go to ER if doctor won't see you!

good luck sweeite!
take care of you!
there is only ONE YOU, and the doctors rush, rush, rush this time of year!! so go in and don't leave until he or she takes your blood pressure and does an ekg! insisit upon them.
tell the doctor that you are requesting that he or she put in writing on your medical chart that you are asking for an ekg, and heart monitor test.
*my dad's cancer doctor taught me this trick
that no doctor is going to write that on your chart, he will write out the order for the needed tests, and if he doesn't you repeat I want you to put it in writing that I am requesting an ekg, and heart monitor test and you say i do not need one.
that way you have it covered, and he will not want to write that down and sound like he isn't treating you!!

how much and what kind of stress are you under?
try deep breathing to relax, calm you body, mind and spirit, listen to light old fashioned concert jazz or classical or soft rock music.

im me if you need me. mystic_gift@yahoo.com

Hopefully, your doctor has tested you for hyperthyroidism. My boss had the exact same thing happen to him and it turned to be a thyroid condition. Its a common cause of rapid pulse rates, and it also causes the other types of symptoms you mentioned - its also easily treated. Its good to at least rule this out. There is a simple test for thyroid hormone.

Here's some info on hyperthyroidism:

Is this a consisent thing with you? That is pretty high. At your age, this is not normal.

A few possibilities. Are you taking any stimulants? ephedra, or cocaine?

Ther other possibility at your age is Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.

There are other possibilities, but I would need more information to diagnose your problem. If you are worried about persistently high heart rate, go see your doctor.
