About a week ago I was kissing my girlfriend and we were going at it pretty heavily when I tasted my own blood, I freaked out. Basically I've been freaking out since. 2 days later I came down with a cold, but now its almost gone. She says there were no cuts in her mouth, and her sexual history is sex just once with one guy with a condom. My question is, despite my brother who is a 4th year medical student telling me I'm over reacting; should I really be freaking out here?? (I tested negative back in august so I don't have it, or well I didn't have it if the case may be)

It is possible if you exchange blood or fluids with her, but it is HIGHLY, HIGHLY IMPROBABLE. You're brother is right. If you are already or planning on being intimate with this person, both of you should be tested for HIV and other STDs on a regularly basis anyway.

Yes, you're freakin' out like a spas, and there's no need to. Calm down. First, there are tests for that now, and free clinics for absolute piece of mind. Second, your girl friend is an ultra-low risk person to start with. Third, you'd need to have a lesion in your mouth, throat or esophagus to even have a chance of being infected. Fourth, the infection rate is only one in 5 or 6 HUNDRED exposures.
Fifth, alternative medicine treatments have actually killed the disease in many people smart and disciplined enough to learn and follow the regimen, which the AMA doesn't want you to know about, but a little looking on the internet can dig up.

So RELAX! Life is still good.

Yes you are over reacting! you can't get HIV from kissing. You said yourself you tested negative. Quit with the paranoia because you will make yourself crazy over nothing.

Your fears are probably unfounded------sex should not be taken lightly and avoiding risky behavior is a must!---the cold would have nothing to do with early stage HIV-----as far as kissing goes yes it CAN be a risk--------sharing of any body fluids (and saliva does count) are a risk-----sounds like both of you are safe enough if she is honest----and most people are I hope...good luck and don't give up being cautious-----remember being overly cautious is OK----it only takes one mistake to give you a death sentence.-------good luck----and stay safe!

No, it's really no possible for you to get HIV from kissing...you don't have to be worried... Unless, your girlfriend has HIV and she had a cut in her mouth as well has you have a cut in your mouth, it's impossible.

No, you can't get HIV by kissing. It can only be transfered by unsafe sex and using a needle that was used by someone else. (At least, the second one is what I have been told.)

Hope that helps.

if i was you, i would do some research to see if Aids is really a disease at all, or just a bunch of symptoms and whether hiv is even related to aids... dont' beleive everything the media and your government feed you.
