My mum has got to have a heart bypass, she has two small tumours on her lung too. Also she has water on the lung, and has had to have it drained off every two weeks. This is upsetting , and i want to know if she can get through all this.

What tucksie has said is true and it is very important to stay positive. You must be aware that at this moment in time that your mum will not be having just great time of it or the quality of life she would hope for. So this bypass is going to help to restore her quality of life and cure two of her ailments. And be rest assured that her Specialist would not perform a bypass if he thought that your mother was not strong enough for such an operation.

However, put your faith in the medical profession and talk to your mums doctor so you will have a greater understanding of the risks involved in an operation of this kind. There are always risks associated with any surgery, even minor ops come with a risk factor. Every precaution will be taken to ensure that any risks is kept to the minimum.

Keep strong for your mums sake and put your faith in her doctors who are looking after her. She'll be back on her feet in no time. And whilst she will still have the tumours medical advancement is by leaps and bounds these days that it maybe that a treatment for these tumours will soon be available to your mum.

Rest assured your mum will be ok, the water on the lungs is a byproduct of her weak heart and it is certainly survivable. The tumors can be treat without invasive surgery so all she has to worry about is the bypass which today is commonplace. Have faith in modern medicine, she'll win through. I've had all these problems and more and am still around and kicking. You and your mum must stay positive, that's important as your belief will carry you through the worst of it. How do I know ?? I've been there, in fact I am just out of hospital to spend Christmas with mine. Have hope and you'll see the golden light of the future.

She can always survive long enough to do what she still wants to do before feeling better or feeling worse and I think you are the person to help her to do so. It is a very difficult time for both of you. You can try to cope with this situation.
