If so, do you remember what it was called, or what was in it? Also, did you enjoy it?
Every person I have spoken to, who has tried Persian food, has loved it! So, I was just wondering what you guys thought.
If you havn't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and find your closest Persian restaurant and enjoy!!! Yummmmmy!

Just in case it wasn't clear already...I'm Persian, so I know about all the food we've got! And I can even cook it for you, if you like!

I love it and cook it all the time. In fact, I'm going to make tah-chin-e for Christmas dinner. I love tah-dig, ab gusht, and ghorme sabzi. About once a month, we do a koobedeh kabab. Another thing I make is khorest with celery (karafs?) I'm going to attempt to make feseanjan soon.
Persian food is the best! It's better than Indian and Mexican- the flavors are so rich, you know it took alot of time and spices! I live in Los Angeles, so we have a number of Persian restaurants and markets.
Ok -there's 1 thing I don't like and that's sholeh zard.

My favorite is khoreshteh budemjun (eggplant stew) - now I use veal shank and shoulder instead of beef, it turns out wonderfully. Oh and I also add fresh okra (sauteed) and put it whole peeled tomatoes from the can while it is simmering.
My other favorite, of course, is gormeh sabzi, I like to use the small pink kidney beans instead of big fat red ones like my mom uses.
My son (who is 3) can't speak Farsi but he sure knows tadeek. He loves that stuff, he will eat it all if you let him.
I make a mean kashke budemjun though, I've perfected it and have been told it is the best people have ever had!!

I've loved any and all Arabic food I've ever had, but my favorites would have to be from a meal I had at my Iranian friend's house. It was all cooked by the family and was authentic. I've found some great Arabic restaurants in Houston and am loving it! (I go with a bunch of Saudis who tell me what is "real" Arabic food and what is "Americanized".)
