People, I'm just curious, I'm not having sex with anyone. Please don't preach or give me alternate advice like invitro. Some answers are well researched though. Congrats on those who gave those.

I would say pregnancy, because I just found this article:

The common perception that HIV will "'jump' to the other side as soon as it has a chance" isn't completely accurate. The actual chance of becoming infected with HIV during a single sexual experience — even with a partner who is known to be HIV-positive — is rather low: one study put the chance for a woman becoming infected by an HIV-positive male through vaginal sex at 1 in 1000. Because of the difficulties involved in studying how effective HIV is at infecting someone, the numbers vary among studies.

The chance of infection increases with repeated acts of intercourse (more exposure to the virus), yet the risk of transmission in any one sexual episode differs. For instance, transmission is more likely when there is an increased amount of virus in genital fluids or blood (a high viral load) than when the viral load is lower. Also, studies have shown that infection rates are generally higher for male-to-male transmission and needle sharing (anywhere from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 10) but lower for female-to-male transmission. The virus is more likely to be transmitted during certain sex acts where mucous membranes are more easily broken (i.e., anal sex) than during other sex acts where the mucous membranes are more likely to remain intact. Keep in mind that most of these studies took place in North America and Europe and focused on HIV-1. There are different strains of HIV in the world, and transmission may vary between the different strains.

If you're thinking about having sex with someone who is HIV (+), well that choice is yours, but you definitely should use a condom and some spermicide (which offers some additional protection as well). It would be a pretty bad idea not to.

Well, this is just an educated guess, but I would have to say that transmitting the AIDS virus would probably be easier than conceiving. A woman actually has a pretty narrow window for conception, which is only during ovulation. Because sperm can live for some days inside of the vagina, It's possible to become pregnant even if you don't have sex during ovulation. But conception still only happens during actual ovulation - the sperm can just wait patiently for the egg to be ready for fertilization.

But the AIDS virus, on the other hand, can be transmitted at any time of the month. All you need is blood to blood contact (or blood to semen/vaginal fluid contact), which is very likely to happen through sex because of microscopic tears and abrasions to the vagina or the penis during the actual act. And even more so if you choose to have sex while the woman is menstruating, or if you're having anal sex (causes more trauma, tears, abrasions).

So that's my answer, but I've never actually done any research on this specific topic.

getting infected by HIV is much easier because you had blood contact or other body fluid contact with the an HIV +ve person,in such cases chances of getting inf is high although chances of getting AIDS(the cond which results from HIV) is something else it may well take many years to manifest...and getting pregnant i think is less easier...although i would say not very low but still less chance the contacting HIV inf...

it is easier to get hiv, b'cuz for a person to become pregnant the egg must be fertilized and attach itself to the uterine wall, e.g. theres a lot of stuff going on. hiv is usually not that complicated, just a simple exchange of fluids will suffice.

HMMM.....getting pregnant is easier. You can have sex with a someone with HIV using condoms, however you still run the risk of contracting it.

You've got a better chance of getting HIV or some other STD than you do of getting pregnant, don't take chances, life is short as it is.
