have a taco dip with chips - then you can do salsa and guac. also. cocktail shrimp is classic. throw bbq meatballs in a crockpot - they can be on the whole time and have a little plate with toothpicks in the meatballs(or weiners). i like to always have fruit. maybe a pasta salad. chicken wings. deviled eggs. have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm big into seafood around the holidays, clams casino, scallops wrapped in bacon, stuffed shrimp, etc. I'm actually making an appetizer for my cousins that I found on Bettycrocker.com, it sounds pretty good if you want to check it out, there's no fish in it though. They're called sausage-cheese balls and they look really yummy, plus my cousins pregnant so no seafood this time!! There's alot of other yummy appetizers on that website to and I especially like the fact that there are pictures.

I love doing an anitpasto tray. I usually have proschutto, mortadella, and one other Italian meat, olives, atrichokes, roasted red papers, fresh mozzarella, chunks of parmesan. I put a dash of olive oil & balsamic vinegar on the tray, arrange the items, then just a drizzle of olive oil over the top. Thinly slice a thin loaf of french bread- brush with olive oil & broil for a few minutes. Take out of oven & rub the toasted bread with a garic clove cut in half- serve with the antipasto.

meat and cheese trays never fail
try getting the meat and cheese in chunks and make skewers alternating between the meats and cheeses

another fail safe is a veggie tray
carrots, broccoli crowns, radish, sliced cucumber, cauliflower, celery, green onions...and i suggest marzetti's ranch veggie dip

relish trays are always a hit
green/black olives, pickle spears, sweet gerkins (mini sweet pickles), peppers, anything you find in the relish aisle, you can use green onions to separate the different relishes for a good look

cheese ball and crackers
if you go to wal-mart they have a port wine cheddar cheese ball that is delicious

celery sticks filled with cream cheese and peanut butter

lil' smokies are great...you can put them on the relish tray

Very simple and quick.

Get some cream cheese, mix in salsa and taco seasoning with a mixer...I normally just mix it to taste. Spread it over a plate throw on some shredded cheese and jalapenos or olives and serve with taco chips.
