In work and somebody is becoming a veggie after newyear. we are racking our brains trying to think of what special diet it is when people won't eat fruit or veg unless it has fallen from a tree or has come to the end of 'its life' same as they will only eat animals that died naturally?? any ideas?

Its a fruitarian.

each to his own.

I think the moral stance being one of having minimal impact on nature. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with this diet as to the reasons, and how it affects other aspects of thier life such as travel, work, fuel, clothes, housing

I guess, in theory, a fruitarian would not be in this forum as the energy required to power technology has a far greater impact on nature than picking fruit,

I've checked the website below. it all seems to be about the individuals human health, and little to do with the natural world, impact on animals or nature.

fruititarian, but they wont eat meat. they eat mostly fruit because vegetables are usualy the root of the plant (unless u call a tomatoe a veggie) and they will only eat a plant that you can have without killing the entire plant, like you would with a veggie.

I think you mean Fruitarian. The Fruitarian diet consists of raw fruit and seeds only.

It is also called vegan. It is a very dangerous diet...I don't recommend it. Not many doctors or dietitians will either. You need specific nutrients that you will not find too easily in that diet and you will potentially end up with a disabling condition (eyes, internal organs, skin, hair, bone (you need calcium that isn't always found in fruit or seeds). Try a good vegetarian diet. Going from a meat eating diet to a vegetarian diet is hard enough...but to go directly to a vegan diet is verging on insane...you might find her binging out on a porterhouse.

She needs to know how to combine certain plant foods to create the right amino acid that is found in meat.

It's the RAW diet - where you only eat raw, uncooked fruits and vegetables. My aunt has been doing it for quite some time now (she was a vegetarian for 30 years prior) and she is thin, healthy and very happy.

.Well think about this, when things die naturally it's usually because it has come to the end of it's shelf life so to speak. So really do you want to put stuff into your body that is already decaying.

No! So why not fresh or frozen. Not unless you intend to make your own wines and beer.

And animals would not get to stage of dying naturally as there would be so many of them they would be malnourished and ie diseased.
