I have heard about using things like mayonnaise to add shine, and things like that, but do any of these things work?

about once a month I used to use : 1 raw egg, 1 tsp olive oil and 1tsp mayonnaise, and it really does add to shine and softness.
Now that I dye it though, it stays shiny without the treatment.

You can use 1/2 cup of mayonnaise and an egg or pour a bottle of beer over your hair and rinse it out.
These do work but depending on the condition of your hair, product lines like Nexxus are great for dry dull hair. My hair is real healthy and prefer Redken products now.

Yes!I just made a batch a avacado treatment.

1 avacado
extra vigin olive oil
1 egg
water

I blend until its lump free and smooth and then leave on for 10 minutes.Avacado is GREAT for a healthy shine.

Also,
1 can of cocnut milk for a pre-poo is great or mashed with avacodo.

Vinegar is great for dandruff and my mom uses mayo and her hair is really healthy and shiny but I hate the smell. If you have wavy/curly/frizzy hair try coconut milk/lime juice to temporarily straighten the curl.

Hope this helps!!
