one of those inflatable neck pillows? Some refreshing face mist? Them socks what are meant to stop you getting DVT? Nice luggage? I'd consider any of these a nice thoughtful gift.

Personally, I like magazines better than books on flights. If you do decide on a book...how about a photography book with a year in review like Time Magazine's or People's? A lavender scented, neck pillow (good for men or women), a nice set of ear phones (if it's a flight with a tv), or before an I tunes card for downloading some new music on their MP3, or a CD with some great music if they have a portable CD player. I also like the portable games such as electronic solitare or football.

a hand held electronic poker game, tetris, blackjack, wheel of fortune, etc, they have them at wal mart ( if you can still find one this time of year) and they are less than 15 dollars.
