Depends on what you are sorry for.

First you have to feel bad about the transgression, then you have to let the person know you feel bad about it and are sorry for it. Then you have to listen, and listen, you have to give them time to vent and get it out. Good luck.
By the way. That is the true way to tell a man from a boy. The ability to honestly apologize.

When you apologize try to make sure you really meant it. Something that really came from the bottom of your heart and you really sorry, for whatever you did. You can also show it in action instead of saying it .

you walk right up to the person, you tell them you are sorry for doing what you did, you tell them what you are sorry for, specifically and then you listen to them and give them a chance to express how they feel about your actions and your apology;
you simply get it done and you don't expect forgiveness; you just hope for it but cannot resent it if it isn't felt by the other whom you offended

Be bold enough to say that you have made a mistake and you are sorry for it.

You simply open your mouth and allow the words to flow. But only if you are sincere within your heart. God bless****
