There are lots of things you can do to make your place more appealing to buyers...
1. Get rid of any clutter. The idea behind this is to make the place look as large and clean as possible. That means take the out-of-season clothes out of the closets, remove as many items as possible from the kitchen counters, etc. Basically, you take out all the items in a room and only put back 50% of the stuff...
2. Clean, clean, clean! Everything needs to sparkle: tub, shower, counters, floors, toilets, windows, etc.
3. Remove personal items that will distract the buyer from seeing themselves living in your place. So remove those trophies, religious artifacts, family photos, etc.
4. Push furniture away from the walls and leave space free. This makes a place look bigger and allows for flow in a room.
5. Open as many shades, curtains and blinds as possible. Let as much light in as you can... people don't want to buy dreary places.
6. Get off the computer and get to work...!
Good luck selling... if you don't sell today, get back to us here and we'll give you more ideas. Unfortunately, you left it a bit late for what really needs to be done..........

Clutter is a big thing with buyers, No one wants to see it. Try to get rid of it. Make sure your windows are clean, cobwebs are swept, and as far as smell.. If you bake pop a batch of brownies into the oven before they come, Or Cut a few fresh oranges.
Good luck!
Oh, leave all the blinds/curtins open. Try to get as much sunlight in there as possible.
Get a few fresh flowers to put around the place, Make it seem like home.
Try to open up your apartment as much as possible. This might be hard to do on such short notice, But get rid of all unessasary furniture such as oddly placed end tables, and things that basicly stop you from walking a nice path through the apt.

Depersonalize it by removing photos that might be sitting around or hanging. You want them to be able to picture themselves there... having it as their home... so you don't want to make too big a statement about it being YOUR home.
Turn lights on in every room (yes, even the bathroom!) so it's well-lit. It's fine to simmer something on the stove (just a pan of water with a little cinnamon and vanilla is enough to do it) but make sure that you either remove and clean, or cover the pan before potential buyers arrive.
Make sure it's all clean, clean towels are out, beds made, and fresh flowers are nice if you have the time...
They WILL look in the closets, so don't just stuff everything in there :)

Stand back and look at each room. Get rid of any furniture that make it look cluttered and makes the room look too full. Most of the time, less is better. Clean any light fixtures that are not bright and shiny and clean looking. Use a good furniture wax to dust the wood on anything left in the room. Have plenty of light in each room but not with too many lamps on tables and floor lamps. GET RID OF ALL CLUTTER! I have sold dozens of homes and this is the biggest of all mistakes by home owners. Clutter makes the whole house/apt look bad.

My crew goes in and takes everything out. They start a deep clean from the top to the bottom. They scrub, Army clean down to the bare wood then, I personally inspect it. I go over everything. In back of, under and around then, through the fridge, for instance, all the dust, the dirt, it has to look new.
The stove, the bathroom. Then we paint everything, we even paint the appliances if they need it this, includes re glazing the tub.
We have won the number one place in condos and apartments in Las vegas, there are non better.
