Many day care centers in America hire anyone with a high school diploma or equivalent. Some experience with young kids are a plus, plus some educational training in early childhood is also a plus. The extra experience means better pay. Have good references, and any documentation of experience or education.

First, you need to meet the criteria for education... some states only require a high school diploma, but others require more stringent standards. Many states require at least 12 units of college units to work in a center. It is also a good idea to have practical experience working with children before you start applying for jobs.

Don't listen to that idiot Curt...just some guy who has to blame all his failures and inadequacies on others...

ANYWAYS..back to your question. I really think that the US educational system needs BETTER TRAINED, and DEDICATED teachers.

You should research educational programs in the US who recruit teachers from other countries. Especially if you are trained in early childhood special education or are a bilingual teacher...these are highly coveted positions ...especially in the state where I live.

You might start by looking a www.ed.gov...thats the US Department of Education website.

I don't know, but wanted to wish you good luck (esp in light of idiotic posts). You might check department of education website. A lot depends on your experience and training. Every state has different ways to do it, in our state you have to have so many hours in early childhood education classes, and you have to pass a test given by the state department of education.

You certainly don't have be be perfect in someone else's eyes to teach here, considering how many Americans can't spell or use proper grammer, you're probably better off than they are.

For starters, correct your english grammar, or you will run into more "curts" who want to send you back to your own country. For real though, you must be proficient in english if you are going to be teaching english speaking kids.
Preschools and daycares have few stipulations, but are low paying jobs. To teach at elementary school level you must have a BA in early childhood or primary education and a teaching certification in the state you are living in.

WHY?? Are we lacking Early Childhood Teachers here? I've been fed a bill of goods by our stinking liberal media that Americans are only unwilling to pick our crops. Thus, we are inundated with Mexicans! I didn't know Americans were unwilling to educate our children at an early age.

Why don't you just stay in your own country! After all, I'm sure that you have been America bashing and you are not welcome here.
