I was chatted up by a old guy more than twice my age at work last night as I was finishing off who I don't find remotely attractive and has a permanent self-satisfied smile on his face.

He asked "come to the staff bar on Friday night for a drink", and when I said no, the presumptuous twit asked "is that anything to do with my faith?" I said its my choice and none of your business. Then he asked for my email so he could send poems to me. I said "my boyfriend wouldn't like it too much". He had the nerve to say "he doesn't have to know about it". I said "he will because we talk about everything". He then said he didn't want to get me in trouble and walked off in a flash but was waiting for me at the front exit! The chat-up situation was a bit amusing but made me feel sick, but seeing him at the exit seriously worried me. I've taken an alternative route out my workplace now.

Has anybody else been in a really weird, revolting or worrying chat-up situation, with colleagues or others?

Try the "I" approach. I am not interested. I don't want a drink with you. I don't want to talk to. I find you creepy and disgusting. I know you think you have said these things but try it. Men understand blunt better than anything else ,some still may not get it. Try not to bring up reasons that include your boyfriend, girlfriend, or anyone else.

Yes, but you take a different route to work now . lol

no seriously, I am 42, and inside I am still 18 at heart, and when booze is added, i sometimes forget that - and I am normal!

I think your particular wierdo just needs reminding of his age, in a nice subtle manner, and if that dosent work, threatent to sue him under harrasment... (check out the procedure first in case he calls your bluff)

The prospect of you humiliating him will be enough to keep the wierdo off you back I am sure, you may even help some other girls who work at your place by doing it too, for i guess you are not the only 'prey' in his sights. This advice becomes bad if the creep is your boss, just look for another job :0)
