If the claim that Islam hates jews is true, why do you think that it does?

I'm not convinced that ALL Muslims hate Jews, but the ones who do give prominence to verses in the Koran that would seem to command this hatred (whether the verses command this or not is not for me to judge). Here's a list of verses pertaining to Jews in the Koran:

There is no claim that Islam hates Jews and there are many in the Muslim world who are horrified by the actions of Iran in trying to legitimize Holocaust Denial. In college I had many college friend who were Muslims while I was the vice-President of the URI Hillel House including some in my fraternity house. One of Israel's best allies in the region is Turkey which it has a military alliance with for example and Turkey (although they don't care to) could take Iran to the clearners.

Qur' an mentions particular group of jews who are bad.

But remember not all jews are bad.

3:199 And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book(Jews and Cristians), those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah. They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account.

3:113 Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.

3:114 They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.

3:115 Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right.

3:64 Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).

So basically in the Qur' an where it mentions the jews are bad, it mentions a particular group but not all Jews.

it is not a religious instruction for islam to hate jews, though there are external reasons (outside of faith) that cause trouble:

there is a geographic problem - two big religions living in the smae land - both claiming 'ownership', forcing separation and agression on both sides.

this hatered will highlight differnces between the two religions, fanatics using these distinguishing characteristics as a weapon to drive the trouble between them.

the fanatics themselves, more often than not, would be driven by a more political or economic gain than any religious calling.
