Sandbanks near portsmouth is loverly. Anywhere in Dorset for that matter, I have many happy memories of short breaks there. Go in the summer if poss to get the full benefit.

Come down to the New Forest in Hampshire. On one side of you there is the historic,walled city of Southampton, and on the other is the seaside town of Bournemouth.....you could do alot worse!
