any greengrocer, or supermarket should sell them. They're great for chips.

there is definately a variety of potato called Golden Wonder,

Golden Wonder is a late maincrop russet skinned variety of potato and is reputed by some to have the best flavour of all potato varieties. It is very dry and floury and is ideal for baking, roasting, and frying.

The potato was originally found in the UK, by a Mr. Brown of Arbroath, Scotland and is believed to be a variation of the variety Maincrop (syn.Langworthy).

Unfortunately, yields of this potato tend to be on the low side. Though they can be suceptable to some diseases, slug and blight resistance are reasonable. Because of the good keeping qualities, and very good taste (and in fact it is said to be better 2 months after lifting), they are well worth growing.

The crisp company Golden Wonder was named after the potato.

the above is from Wikipedia

For growing, try the Thompson and Morgan website, it's on there.

For eating (are you thinking roast for Christmas dinner? they'd be great), you are going to struggle to find a specific variety. Try ringing round greengrocers in your area. I believe it may be more readily available in Ireland, but I doubt that will help you right now. There are other varieties that are similar, usually with the word "gold" or "golden" in the name.

Mandy's in Tooting and Willesden in London. But this year they are incredibly expensive....£10.00 for 5k. The seed potato is available on-line and in some garden centres. They can be grown in bags on a patio. I have an allotment and will be growing my own next year.....which I did this year but ate them.

i think you're gonna have trouble finding them here. they are mainly in ireland, so maybe try there, but they are solely used for the crisps and have a tight market for outsiders getting to them, as then they could potentially match the crisps and knock out the trade

I think you may find that "Golden Wonder" is the name of the manufacturer who make the crisps. You won't find a "Golden Wonder" potato!!!
