All I know is that it is one of the major religions and I am under the impression that Hindus are vegetarians, thought I am not sure there is really a connection between food preferences nd religion.
I apologise for my ignorance, I opened this question mostly to see other answers about Hinduism, cause I know I haven't anything important to say on something I don't know

one of the answers above compares hinduism to islam and it's from that guy who's been preaching about islam and saying the differences, i suggest that no one should preach religions if they are going to be biased towards one, and that dude is obviously biased towards islam
hinduism has no belief of pantheism, they don't believe that everything is god, they believe that everything has this essence of god, like when you die, that light in you joins the supreme light
that guy needs to stop preaching things he isn't capable of understanding, of course when people say things about hinduism that are wrong, the religion they compare it to will sound more appealing, hinduism cannot be preached, it is not a religion meant to preached and it technically is not even a religion, like islam christianity or judaism
hinduism is a culture, i'm an agnostic, but I am an agnostic hindu, hinduism lets you choose your own path, it doesn't make god sound like someone who is hateful and would send you to a place like hell for eternity, if you read hindu philosophy, you'd be in awe of the some of the concepts, especially since it is from so long ago, I think it is a very beautiful 'religion' Hinduism and Buddhism, other religions in the world don't appeal to me

Hinduism could be described as the religion of India and the oldest of the worldwide religions. The religion is characterized by a belief in reincarnation and the essential unity of forms and theories. Hinduism has a large pantheon of gods and goddesses, and traditionally had a caste (Hindu Social Class) system.

Bush..no matter how many people dies or suffer a long as it's a win...I hate that. The Mahabharata should have taught people how to be peaceful..and this polygamy..why do you have Gods who marry so many times..

Of all the major religions, I believe Hinduism is first and foremost a culture with lots of traditions before it is a religion.

I like Hamburgers and big Juicy Stakes too much to be a Hindu and im Not real big on Reincarnation, comforting thought though. Very peaceful people and a good example of what religion should be about.
