Thus every one living in India is a Hindu basing on this geographical nomenclature, including me , a muslim by faith.

Hinduism is not a religion as this term is not found in any of the scriptures, hence Hindus are what I have shared with you earlier.

A Hindu, as per modern definition, is an adherent of the philosophies and scriptures of Hinduism, the religious, philosophical and cultural system that originated in the Indian subcontinent.

There are approximately 1 billion Hindus, making Hinduism the third largest religion in the world after Christianity and Islam, of whom approximately 890 million live in India. Other countries with large Hindu populations include Nepal, Bangladesh, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Guyana and Indonesia. Hinduism is believed to be the oldest living religious tradition in the world. Ancient or Epic India was known as Bharat, named after Bharatha, the grand emperor during the time before the Mahabharata war. Later, after the Muslim Mughul invasion, it became Hindustan, meaning the "land of Hindus". Hindustan continues to remain a popular alternative name for the Republic of India.

Hindus are those who were living in the region of the Indus river and are now living in India and have developed a culture of their own from time immemorial and those who have total freedom to worship god in any form and call god by any name and see the presence of God in anything and every thing. They are people who do really believe in the Omnipresence of God faithfully and really and it is because of this true scientific belief they can worship God in any figure made of stone .they are people who believe that noting in this universe is without the presence of God and That everything is brimming with the energy of god . \to verify this fact just see the atom of which the stone or any dead wood or any trash is made of under an electron microscope , you will see the electrons spinning around the protons incessantly in the atom of any element which constitute even the inanimate things . they believe that God is in animate and inanimate beings .(vide Bhagavad -Gita ) If the electrons stop working in the atoms of elements what would happen to the world ? Krishna asks he same question to Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita .The electron is working without any expectation and unceasingly for zillions of years without dying They are unborn and undying and existed for ever and shall exist for ever .This is the proof of the omnipresence of God that the Hindu believes in ..
