I have a pc that got a virus, I reformated the "c" drive, but find that my?

XP Pro disk is damaged, is there a way of reloading xp from my laptop?

disconnect the harddisk from the desktop
connecti it as a external harddisk for the laptop
then instlall the os on the drive choose...
