Depends on the freezer, depends on the meat. I leave my things in there for 3 months - maybe more - & I've never suffered any ill effects. It also helps if you can get it home from the shops in roughly the same state & at roughly the same temperature as when you bought it.

I would say 3 to 4 months but it depends what type of freezer you have, if it is frost free the meat will last longer. You shpould always double wrap meat when you freeze it :-))

6 months at most but if you can see freezer burn on it don't eat it. Also depends on if you wrapped it up good with freezer storage bags. It is definitely not worth taking the chance of eating it if you think it has been frozen too long.

One full leg of wild boar, freshly cut from the shot animal and frozen within hours stayed in our domestic freezer for seven years. After that time we had to eat it as the freezer packed up. It was delicious when roasted in the oven.
Double wrap, check the freeser frequently, which we didn't, and cook and eat as soon as defrosted.

I would think a few years, it depends on the type of meat and the temperature. There was the case of the Mammoth that was found frozen by the time the experts had got over to it the Eskimos had eaten it.
