I think there is a lot of relevancy to the fact that Christianity is the wolrld's largest religion. I think this is due to Divine Providence. Take into consideration the following:

-- praising God, and enjoying the good will of all the people. And every day the Lord added to their group those who wer being saved. (ACTS 2:47)
Jesus Christ only lived 33 years, never went more than 30 miles from his home, never wrote a book, never was on tv, never made a cd or any multimedia source and YET

-- Jesus Christ has influenced the world more than any person;

-- Jesus Christ's existence separates history (ac or bc);

-- Jesus Christ has more books written about him than any person in history;

-- Jesus Christ is the Ruler of the largest religion in the world;

-- Jesus Christ had 11 apostles and numerous martyrs die excruciating deaths believing in the Messiah, the Son of God;

-- Jesus Christ fulfilled 300+ prophesies

I follow Jesus Christ because he's the Son of God. The size of the religion is irrelevant. Though it is encouraging.

No, doesn't change my view a bit.

His existence did not separate history. Most Scholars believe he was born in 4-6 BC.... BC wasn't even used till a few centuries AFTER all of that anyway lol The Romans didn't wake up one day and said "we're starting over... this is Year 1 AD"

Prove there are more books written about him than any person in history. Honestly, I don't believe that. I can go to the History section of the Book Store and see more books on Hitler than I can on Jesus in the Religious section.

Jesus Christ doesn't "Rule" Christianity - that's silly - he was a Jew

Dionysus had 12 Apostles (Jesus also had 12) - other Religions have had martyrs as well - these things are not unique to Christianity at all.

Prove he fulfilled them... email me the list of all 300 prophecies and show me where he fulfilled each one. I've done a study on this with several other people and what we found was that he didn't - He did not establish Israel as a Nation when he was alive - that prophecy alone makes the rest crumble as there is nothing in the prophecies in the Old Test that state the Messiah will die and come back again and Then fulfill prophecies.... it says during his lifetime he will do these things.

*What is Popular isn't always Right and what is Right isn't always Popular* Claims by adherents do not make it Truth.

Just because it is popular doesn't make it right. 99% of Christians do not put into practice what Christ taught. Revelation 12:9 says that Satan is misleading the entire inhabited earth. Jesus said in Matthew 7 that "not everyone saying to me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of the heavens". In the same chapter, Jesus said that very few people are on the road to life. Therefore, the truth doesn't lie in a mainstream religion, namely "Christianity" as a whole. Satan uses a cloak of "Christianity" to make it difficult to find the one true Christian religion, which happens to be a minority.

Like I mentioned, 99% of Christians are false Christians. They honor Jesus with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from him. In other words, they want to bear the title "Christian" but they don't want to obey God's commandments. Simple as that.

Numbers mean nothing. Are you saying that when Christianity was small it was a false religion and that when it got bigger it became the true religion?

Nope... doesn't matter. Why does "numbers" have to mean anything?

What is important is that you find spirituality in some manner and be happy with it. Or you find something that allows you to relate to your soul. I've known some atheists who have found peace in their beliefs, and to me, that's all that really matters.

Numbers? Biblical references? That only means something to those who need to justify what they believe, and that suggests that they are not secure or happy with their beliefs and need to substantiate what they believe. I would be more inclined to question why they need to have everyone believing as they do. What is it that makes you so insecure with your faith that you need everyone believing what you believe just so you feel secure?

Probably something that needs to be asked on this list somewhere along the line, but then again, you get all these "book quotes" rather than personal feelings and real life experiences.

So much for people who live by "the book".

NOPE..
And number of followers has nothing to do with belief.

When Noah went on the ship he took very few number of people with him.. right (as bible says only 2 couple of everything)? he left 1000s drawning in the water flow behind.. so "large number" is not a base for anything..

And if I am to follow Christiany that must be because Christianity has provided something to my mind , not because of its large number of followers....

Christianity is not the largest world religion. The Church of the Flying Spagetti Monster is. More people cook and eat pasta than anything else.

Ramen !

Jesus was openly gay and enjoying it. Many christians ignore it and some suffer from homophobia. It shows that the most common approach to religion is the cafeteria one where people sufering from schizophrenic mental disorder pick up the bit's and pieces from middle eastern tales and legends they like than pretend that it's a religious thing...

Not at all..he's still just a man that died 2000 years ago and I think people have to take responsibility for themselves and stop relying on something that no longer exists.

The fact that Christianity is so large means that Jesus isn't very discriminating as to who he allows to follow him. Why would I want to follow someone who doesn't show wisdom in his associates?

Yes, today Jesus is da man, but 1800 years ago while Christians were cowering in the catacombs it was Zeus who ruled!
