i currently work at a ladies gym and the advice i give to them (because they LOVE to eat too) is that if they just cut down on the portions and drink lots of water, it will make a HUGE difference in their diet. Also, if you just cut off all the soda in your diet, that will dent it too. Do you do any type of exercise? perhaps you can look into pilates or yoga? Maybe walk the mall?

It has been proved scientifically no food diet is really and persistent all diets even if they work makes psychological pressure on you and the results will return in months, so the best way is not a diet but changing your food habit
for example for the first step you can stop any artificial drinks like coke, juice and etc if you leave them for good you will see about 1-2 kg reduction in your weigh in 2-3 months
but your new level will be permanent and dos not make you nervous
so it would be your habit not to drink them for always
it also dos not make you nervous after that your second step could be any other new habits like replacing your dinner only by vegetables or delete hamburger as a fast food from your diet
or fried foods
also do not forget walking 1 hour every other day

Since you really don't have much to loose and you hate dieting (me too!), then I suggest that you don't diet at all. Try doing some cardio - it really is the best way to loose weight. 20 - 20 minutes of elevated heart rate will do the trick. Try a run/walk combination by jogging/running for 2 minutes and walking at a brisk pace for 3 minutes and repeating until your time is up. If you're embarrased to do this outside (or it's too cold), try doing some step exercises on your stairs or even jumping jacks - anything to get your heart rate up for at least 20 minutes every other day.
If you really want to diet, then do it in combination with the exercise. Just cut out some snacks or desserts (not all of them!) or replace them with some healthier options.

Try a vegan or veg lifestyle (not a 'diet' as such!) with wholemeal bread, pasta and rice where possible.
Dairy is a big factor in obesity, and if you were to go pure veggie, you would replace dairy milk with rice milk or a soy milk.
Have you identified your problem in being overweight? Is it overeating (if you overeat, you're not eating the right foods)? Undereating (if you don't eat well, you're just eating very bad foods and not exercising enough). Are you addicted to sugar? Cheese? Milk? Cakes? Sweets?
Rather than feeling obliged to go on a silly fad diet, just identify your weakness and work around it. Love chocolate? Stop buying milk chocolate and buy 70% dark chocolate instead (a million times better for you). Addicted to sugary drinks? Make fruit smoothies instead and sweeten with a drop of syrup. Addicted to greasy foods? Use olive oil instead and find ways of cooking chips etc in a healthier fashion (look online). Addicted to pasta? Use wholemeal (it'll fill you up quicker, and stop you from feeling hungry).
Eat lots of fruit and veg, drink the 8 glasses of water and get a decent amount of exercise.
Fruit and veg are a massive part of a healthy lifestyle and a slender body. Find what fruits and vegetables you do like and eat them more often. Some people say "I hate veg", which is silly- we're descended from apes for heaven's sake ;-) We get so addicted to greasy food, salty food and sugary food, we lose touch with what our bodies and taste buds truly want!

DIETS never work!!! It needs to be a lifestyle change. Cut back on all sugary foods and try and stay away from while bread. Eat small meals (try using a salad plate instead of a dinner plate) every 3 to 4 hours a day. Drink lots and lots of water. But most of all !!!!!!Exercise even if its just walking!!!! Slow weight loss equals permante weight loss!!!
