whenevr i use my computer, avg anti virus decides to do automatic scans, even though i have not given this program permission or specified any automatic scans, i have tried looking for an option to disable it but cannot find one, i am using avg anti virus free edition, whichever version the newest one is lol

click test center then click on scheduler and then click on edit shcedule and then uncheck everything.

Well you have a choice between scanning everyday or not scanning at all (and having to tell it when to do it), atleast with my version those are the only choices i have. But try one of the buttons on the left side and look through each of the settings. I cant remember what button right now (an not on my normal computer to look). but there should look like a list tat appears on the right side and i think it was one of the last settings to choose from. Just look at anything that says scan, it should give you more detail when you click on it to determine if is a full scan or not.

In the Scheduler Section (in the AVG Control panel, there should be a test plan in basic mode, select that, then click on edit, disable the scan.

Remove it from the startup, go to RUN and type MSCONFIG and click on STARTUP, a index will appear tick off AVG VIRUS SCAN or go to AVG programme and try ticking off auto scan.

just right click on the icon in taskbar, then clik stop protection ( or similiar) but beware it will stop auto protect feature and ur sys wil be prone to virus
