It saddens me when anyone is killed senselessly.

As a soldier i am saddened and realize that I could have ended up the same when I was over there but luckily made it back intact. Its our job though, I think the war is worth fighting if we can get the right strategy in place. This has been a very low body count for any war, look at any other major conflict the US has been involved with in the past.

It is absolutely criminal that one man should be selected to die.
Because a bunch of rich politicians can't make peace.
Because it has been always done doesn't make it right.
Each person over there has family who love them.
56,000 young men died in Viet Nam to keep peace between Buddists. The Northern Viet Nam was one branch and the South was another and more liberated. To keep them from killing each other these men died. Then they pulled out and when the two religious groups had to fight for themselves quit fighting and made peace. Now they are best friends with the USA and tons of them migrated here. But the men who died are simply casualities of war. But these same people scream out against abortion. Have babies to make more men to die in your wars.
That makes a lot of sense.

Any decent minded person should feel sad when a Soldier is killed in the line of duty.

Unfortunately, it is a necessary evil thanks to those terrorist's who think they can attack America and we will just sit back and do nothing.

America needs to send a message...We will not tolerate any terrorism and we will hunt you down...no matter where in this World you might be, so if you plan on attacking America...be prepared to pay a high price for doing so!

You know, i enlisted in 2002, knowing that i would probably go to iraq or afghanistan, scared and worried, i went to iraq twice now and have seen friends killed and friends of my friends killed. I don't like what is going on, but you should thank every soldier you see and let them know you are behind them, even if you dont believe in bush. I don't want to go back, but if i have to i guess i will, and i do it for my country. Thank a soldier and be proud of us.

It is not good to c anyone killed. However the only way to stop this , is to use the us army to do more productive things other than fighting wars, such as repairing the city of newaurleens, or disaster relief.

But if the army is constantly sent in to fight wars they will be killed. The real tragedy is that a lot of the American solders who I have met are very good people and really believed that they went to war to help ordinary people like them selves, but found out that they actually to war to help a small bunch of people get richer. The same people who then went and cut their benefits, after they were injured or killed in these wars.

Spend the money that is spent on war on improving the lives of people and watch as the world improves. Support the troops and bring them home.

it hurts me deeply, but as a former soldier I know when you take the oath, then you are taking the chance that you might be killed. to those of us that choose to wear a uniform, it is an acceptable risk,we know the price we might have to pay, but we also know that freedom isn`t free.

I think it is sad on a personal level. But the saddest part is to hear it just mentioned in passing on the news, like it is so common place and ordinary. There is nothing ordinary or common about war.

I feel for their family and loved ones, but this is the price of war. I learned to accept it.
