depends on your pc.. may be your pc is old. if not then try to defrag it. RUN-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL-ADMINISTRATIVE TOOL-COMPUTER MANAGEMENT-DEFRAGMENTATION. this will take a while...

hey there are lot of factors governing the prob u just stated.
1. NORTON antivirus itself: I had been using norton antivirus and it drags the sys performance. takes hell lot of time to load up,and makes system slow, it is worse if u 've norton 2005. the latest version 2007 is better though, still it drags, but not as much as it did for 2005 version. try to upgrade to 2007. U may try some other antivirus soft for a change, Kaspersky is the best, but it is costly,,
2. To make it fast , go to start menu, click run, type msconfig

. Then a window will pop up named system config utility. In that click start up tab. Just uncheck the items u dont want to load upo during log on. Then it 'll be a lot faster. But keep in mind that u r changing one of systems most important region, so uncheck only the software u know( like yahoo messenger and so on..) now click apply and click ok. now system will prompt u for reboot. Reboot. Then it 'll be fine. If u cant take that risk there are many software available that does the same job, like norton System works, Tune up 2006, Advanced system optimizer, but all these are not free,

You cant! If you insist on having all this crap load on startup, your PC WILL boot slow not to mention slow down some of your software! This crap eats your ram up when its running and you arent using it! Messengers take up lots of bandwidth also! They will slow your browsing speed too! You might want to read up on simple computer architecture and see how your system works! The more ram being used, the slower your PC will be!

this could mean a lot of things, but chances are, It has nothing to do with the programs you listed. it has to do ALL your programs. It's known knowledge that every program you install increases the computer's workload. since you mentioned "when I first login", it probably means that you have too many programs on your startup list. there are many programs for the startup menu, but I'll give you this one- Remove Startup Programs Buddy:
http://www.newfreedownloads.com/download-Remove-Startup-Programs-Buddy.html

It's not freeware, but the trial lasts 30 days, and you can always reinstall without having to re-download.
unless your a computer expert, you would be safer staying in the "General Startup" section. the non-system ones are almost always in there anyway. Good luck!

Try your disk clean up in your start menu, programs, accessories, then system tools. Also delete your offline files and cookies, clear history from your internet. You should run your disk defragmenter (same as above only click on disk defragmenter instead of disk clean up) if you have not done so in awhile (it will take a long time to defrag. if you have not done it in awhile). Then your computer should run faster and load faster as well. I hope this helps!

U can search the crack at internet.

The best way is to upgrade your computer's RAM. I had the same problem before: once the "welcome" screen appears, it takes around 5-10 minutes for the programs in the system tray to load and the system to stabilize. After the RAM was upgraded, it ran smoother and better than ever before.

Get more ram. Defrag it, more memory possibly. I just had this problem. You could also limit what starts up.
