I've had this red spot on my neck thats flat and not itchy. Its been there for a while and I thought it'd go away. Now, it's seemed to have spread on the other side of my neck. The new spot isn't as defined as the nickel sized one. In fact, it looks like someone scratched it and left red marks. I started applying vitamin E oil w/ aloe a few days ago. Not sure how well it's working. The nickel mark seems to turned to a darker shade. And I can see like tiny zit like bumps here and there. I plan on seeing a doctor about this but I don't have the money. So, has anyone ever encountered something like this?

I think it sounds like eczema but I don't think I've ever had it before and it doesn't run in my family. I have acne and stuff on my face but not really bad. I have pretty good hygiene and try to stay healthy. Any help? Thanks

I don't have allergies. If I do, it's not noticeable.

Sounds more like psoriasis than eczema since eczema almost always itches.
Go see the doc, either way you will need a prescription to clear it. In the meantime, use 1% hydrocortizone cream on it and try not to et it wet, or use anything that will dry the skin on it (like soaps).
Good luck, HTH

That looks like just a scabby spot to me. Like it was a spot that was injured, possibly from a bite or a sharp object the dog bumped into. It doesn't look like mange or ringworm, those would be more flakey. On the good side, it also doesn't look to be infected. If you are getting the dog to a vet on Tuesday, I wouldn't worry too much. In the meantime, it wouldn't do any harm to put some polysporin on the wound to keep infection out. It could also be a spot where a tick was attached and scratched off, and that would cause an infection, and that really should be seen by a vet to make sure that the tick's head isn't still stuck in the skin.

Some times these things can be Ring Worm, they are
not worms in that sense, but a skin condition.
I had them as a small boy and went to the Doctor
he gave me no medicine but told me to dab it with
my own urine, sounds stupid i know, and after awhile
they disappeared.
I do not lie Guy in UK.

I'm no doctor, and if you can't afford an MD?

Well, a stumble in this direction probably wouldn't kill ya. I don't think. Decent website at any rate.
