The wedding ring is always placed on the left hand ring finger. It is placed on this hand because it is the one that is closer to your heart. Once you have an actual
"wedding" ring, you place that one first, then the engagement ring. Again, you want to keep your wedding ring closer.

It depends on the culture. In the US - left hand. However, I live in Madrid and wedding bands are on the right hand ring finger. Also, some people choose to wear their wedding band on the left hand and their engagement ring on the right.

The engagement ring and wedding band are worn on the left hand. The wedding band goes first, so it is closest to the heart, and then the engagement ring.
If a ring is being worn on the right hand, it is probably a promise ring of some sort...

It should traditionally be on the left hand. It is confusing when the reverent/pastor say "you may give each other the right hand" but it only indicate that you may take your right hand (most people are right handed) and place the ring on your partners left hand.
I know left handed people who choose to wear their wedding bands and watches on their right hands/arms as they argue that it interfere with their activities like writing etc.
