I assist a stylist in a salon so maybe I can help you with this one. My stylist gets gifts from almost all of her clients and this year she recieved:
- A lotion gift set from Bath & Body Works
- A gift set from Victorias Secret
- A pound of chocolates from See's Candy
- Homemade chocolate chip cookies
- A silver stainless steel travel mug with my stylists name and a small hairdresser saying on the side. This actually came out to about $17. The travel mug was purchased at Things Remembered for $10 and then they engraved it for $5.
- A gift certificate to the movies stuffed inside a basket with popcorn, candy, and soda.
- A really cute christmas ornament that has the Hairdressers Prayer on it.
- A stylist apron with her name engraved on the front.
- A gift certificate to Target with a really cute crystal bracelet.
- A photo album gift set from Target.
- A gift basket with really nice crackers, cheese, sausage, and wine.
- She got so much stuff, I really can't remember it all lol.
So really, gift sets and baskets are the way to go. Jewelry is always great because if you decide to get a gift certificate, you can spice it up with a bracelet or a nice necklace. With gift cards, I know they're a little impersonal but, it saves the gift recipient from having to fake a smile with a gift they may hate or save them the time should they want to return it. This way, they can purchase something they've been eyeing.

Hope this gave you some ideas. Good luck!

I think you should give her the twenty dollars either in a small Santa stocking with a note (Merry Christmas and signed by you with your appreciation for her - or - put the money in a gift card. 22 year old hair dresser's need money.

How about a small present that fits inside a small bag, something Christmas-y, like small "cracker-nut soldiers" and a $20 bill. This way she gets what she wants. That's exactly what I did for my hairdresser.

I get my stylist scented candles & her favorite wine. Try & remember if shes mentioned anything she likes. If she likes going to the movies get her some movie passes.

If you just want to say thank you, you can't go past a nice box of chocolates.
