listen to quiet music, meditate, read a simple prayer or daily meditation book.
listen to pm meditation tapes,
write a list of all the things you need to do before you go to bed, and get those things off your mind. so you won't toss and turn.
Warm milk is an old fashioned sleep tonic--works for me.
De-stress yourself, take a relaxing bath
lay out your clothes for the next day
have your table set for breakfast the night before, lunch made.
the less things you have on your mind to think about, the easier to fall asleep.
find a relaxing scent you ike, i like jasmine and put spray it on my pillow, it reminds me of the night bloomer i had as a kid.
*write 5 things that you are grateful for that happened that day on a piece of paper-- be it your pet, your pillow, your friend, your job, your pillow, or a roof over your head.
this works if you do it the very last thing and lay your head on your pillow that way you go to bed with positive thoughts and happy things in your mind that you carry into sleep.
im me for more.
have a warm and fuzzy comfy bed things to sleep in.
think of your childhood, what comforted you then.
and if all all else fails, say the serenity prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
