WTC #7 suffered some structural damage from debris falling from the North and South towers. #7 was further weakened by fires ignited during the planes' impact and broken gas mains on the ground. Late on 9-11, NYC Firefighters made the determination that it was too dangerous to continue fighting the fires and moved away to a safe distance. The weight of #7 of the heat-weakened structural columns caused it to collapse. I took longer to fall as it was not as top-heavy as the North and South towers.

While it wasn't struck by an airliner, Building 7 was damaged by fire and by debris from the falling towers.

It was abandoned by firefighters when it became apparent the building was unsafe. The collapse was probably the result of fires, primarily. Had the building not fallen it would probably have had to have been demolished.
