My dominant arm had a surgery similar to a cubital tunnel operation due to my ulnar nerve failing as a teenager. This was 6 years ago, since then I have been in pain. Within the past few months it has gotten worse. Its like severe pain, It prevents me from sleeping at times and generally makes me miserable when it flares up.

The pain starts at around my elbow, it feels like inside my elbow then radiates down my arm like in a stabbing wave of pain. It makes my hand lock and that hurts as well. And sometimes it just goes numb.

Ive been taking tylenol, ibuprofen, alieve, and OTC medications in large quantities to try to control it. i tried adding heat, cold , warm water, massaging it or anything I've read about to try to deal with it.

I'm not a huge fan of Docs so I've been avoiding it but it's getting annoying that it is affecting my quality of life. Ive had sleepless nights spent watching crappy TV while I try to get over it.

Any ideas?

Go and see a Nerologists... They deal with the nerves, and maybe he can do something to dampen the pain in your arm...

Acupuncture is good, if you get a lisenced practitioner to perform it, and not some quack!
(Anyone with needles think they can do it, but, I would get some one "old" who has the experience, and not a yong "fly by night" who has a new set of needles and a place to do business, and wants to take your money).

I'd watch taking Ibuprophen, as it can cause liver damage, or kidney damage if taken too much of it...(My Wifes Cousin has had a transplant and the doctor vehemeously told him to NEVER take it..or, it will do damage to his kidneys and kill him).

You may try a "Pain Center" at your local Hospital, and they may be able to help you control it... (They have nerve blockers and steriods, and cortisone shots that can releave the inflamation)....

I wish you well..

Jesse

It seems that your nerve is damaged during operation. Now you have two options i think - 1) to take pain killers life long,
2) to go for acupuncture and other Alternate Medicine systems.
Now you must be on pain killers. These medicines never kill pain but help to kill the patient. Their side effects are sometimes very severe. Therefore you will have to go to Alternate Medicine systems. Acupuncture is the best for all sorts of pains. Therefore you should first go to a skilled acupuncturist. Secondly you should try some herbal bandages. Many villagers use them and come out of trouble. Third thing to be tried is Mud bandages along the site of pain. You should use hilly soil for that. Make it warm and apply.

Hey Soundwave! Well, first off, all those OTC meds you are taking could be really hurting your kidney or liver, STOP it. Sounds like you have nerve damage..........when it burns or stabs then that is your nerves. You really need to go to the doc as much as you don't want to and get an MRI and get to the root of the problem. Then you could get on the proper meds to control the pain..................the longer you wait the worse it will get. Good luck..............................ps. I'm up right now due to chronic pain and it's 4:00am!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!

Have you thought about acupuncture?

Maybe you just need to go on to the doctor and get some prescription anti-inflamitory drugs. Everybody hates doctors, but sometimes you just gotta go and get what you need.

All those over the counter drugs are bad for your liver and kidneys, so I hope you are drinking a gallon of water a day to metabolize them.

Good Luck, God Bless, and Merry Christmas.

easy one! buy Soma! Soma is an excellent muscle relaxer and you should have no problem sleeping at night. I too hate going to the doctor for something I know I need, so I get my Meds online without a prior prescription at http://buysomawatson.com/ . They have everything you need and they are located in the USA! so you can order with confidence that you will receive the real deal! Good luck!

sorry...but it's time that you went to the doc....there is no reason to ignore this and you are probably creating additional problems for yourself by doing so....not to mention what you are doing to your liver with all the otc medications....go to the doc...get it taken care of...good luck
