The Hell is not simply a 'place'. It's a situation. The hell means the situation where God is not there, where His Love, His Spirit and all of His Angels not there. But, He was there. Jesus was there for 3 days. Jesus battling the devil there, and Jesus win. So, everybody who died before Jesus and beloved by God, was ressurected, coz their sins was cured by Jesus, and their souls was salvated by Jesus. Only that 3 days, God was in hell.
God can overcome hell. But hell can't overcome the existence and the presence of God. By the way, if there's any of Devil's angel want to confess 'his/her' sins and back to the God pressence, God never refuse. Unfortunatly, they never do.

Gos IS everywhere. He be present in all things at all times. Mede and other beverages of that ilk, such as beer, was made for the pure of heart. Only devils get to sup on the firey teet of Hell.

Hell is a complete absence of God. That in itself is an unimaginable torment. So yes, it is the only place where God is not there.
