would God send anyone there, or even let a place like that exist? I understand that God only wants the righteous people in Heaven, but can't he put aside a place for the not-so-righteous? It doesn't have to be as good as heaven, but eternal torment? That's going a little far isn't it? Why can't he just send them to a place similar to Wisconsin or Utah? You know, somewhere a little more comfortable. Of course, not Heaven, it's established that certain people won't get in, but why torture those people for ever and ever? Why not just send them to a neutral place?

- Hell is not made for humans it was made for the devil & his demons. There is enough room in Heaven for all of man kind in its entirity. But, since forced love is rape, & forced obedience is slavery & GOD dont want robots, there must be a line drawn in the sand, so to speak. the line is you don't have to be with JESUS in Heaven if you don't want to. GOD is the sustainer of all life, expecially the after life. There is no life apart from GOD creator of Heaven and Earth. However, there is a neutral place, thats not Heaven or Hell, its NOW right NOW here upon this Earth, just what you wanted "a neutral place" GOD is GOD & HE"S eternal, we are not, & the clock is ticking. There's a choice we all must make,The love story of JESUS' gospel is so radical, when someone is searching & asking questions boldly. So cool cause HE'S ready to meet you in the scriptures & introduce you into a saving faith in HIM. Jesus loves us & is hoping we all keep searching, & asking Questions about GOD . . . HE who seeks me shall find me - Matthew - 7:7,8.

If hell wasn't a place of eternal torture, how would the church scare people into becoming Christians? How many followers do you think the church would have today if hell hadn't been described as such a horrible place?

"If I'm wrong I just die, no harm done, but if you die you will suffer for eternity." Have you ever heard this phrase? It sounds like many people are scared into being Christians. How would the church have gained so much power over people without the concept of a horrible hell?

I don't believe there is a god and even if there is one, I doubt he's evil enough to torture people for eternity, no matter what any religion says.

Hell is the position of punishment and imprisonment if you insurrection antagonistic to God. It replaced into created for devil and the rebellious angels (Mt. 25:40-one). Unsaved adult males will bypass there also (Mt. 25:40-one-40 six). interior the O.T. the note Hell (sheol) has 2 meanings. each from time to time it ability the position the position the bodies of the useless are laid (playstation . 6:5; Ec. 9:10; Is. 38:18,19). in many circumstances, although, it ability the position the position departed spirits bypass (Ge. 37:35; De. 32:22; playstation . 9:17; 16:10; fifty 5:15; 30:3; Pr. 9:18; 15:24; 23:14; Is. 5:14; 14:15; Eze. 31:16; 32:21,27). seem at Psalm 9:17 interior the NASV and NIV. interior the approved version the "depraved are grew to change into into HELL," yet in those bibles"perversions" the depraved choose not worry about Hell, they choose basically be in touch about "sheol" in a unmarried (NASV) and the "grave" in the different (NIV). See how the verse has been watered down? "Sheol" sounds like a much extra pleasant position to bypass to than "hell" does. each English-speaking man or woman knows what the note "hell" ability, yet what number ought to outline "sheol"? that is a very wise trick of devil. Take an uncommon note, "sheol" (sheol isn't an English note, that is a Hebrew note transliterated into English), and use it to replace a very favourite and nicely known note (Hell) lower than the pretense that is a extra precise rendering. "Sheol" is mostly defined as "the unseen state" or "the unseen international of the useless," yet ALL are in this state at death no matter if or not they are depraved or not, Likewise, ALL bypass to the grave no matter if or not they are depraved or not. those 2 corruptions (alongside with many others) have genuinely destroyed this verse with the help of eliminating a Hell for the depraved and those who ignore about God. See also Psalm 16:10, 18:5, fifty 5:15, 86:13, 116:3, 139:8; Proverbs 23:14; Isaiah 5:14, 14:9,15, and so on. The King James wisely shows the version between the vacation spot of the lost and kept with the help of pointing out "hell" 31 circumstances interior the former testomony, each and each prevalence a translation of "sheol." "Sheol" is likewise translated as "grave" and "pit" interior the approved version. this suggests that the translators heavily examined the context of each prevalence of the note and translated it for this reason. the hot "Bibles" have both the kept and lost going to the same position, besides the indisputable fact that the approved version wisely sends the depraved to Hell.

Hell does not exist. Do you really think God,who often at times is refereed to as,"Heavenly Father" would punish anyone forever. God can not be tied to unrighteousness, so when he punishes it's done in love.Imagine a loving parent tormenting there child for all eternity. The Hellfire doctrine has been mistranslated, misapplied and misunderstood. Hades is the common grave of man( wherever it is that your dead body rest) and Sheol is more or less the same. There is not a place were God sends humans to be tormented. Contemplate that, then ask who goes to heaven.

There is an answer to your question but the answer is deep and long. What I suggest is you find the answer in your own religion by reading books or asking knowledgable followers of the same religion.

If you have done that and you still don't find any satisfactory answer to your question, try reading books by other religion which discuss the above topic.

As far as I know there is at least one religion which take your question seriously and have the answer to your question. In this religion, one book can be written (which has been done) just to explain the topic that you ask.

Your question falls under the topics of "Afterlife" and the "attributes of God". Try finding religious books about these topics.

Is hell really a place of torment that GOD send you? You need not go so far to find out what it is like in hell; just go to the slums of around the world and look at how brutal poverty can be and how cheap and painful life really is. It shocked a prince so much 2500+ years ago that he gave up his princedom to seek a solution from all that. He found the answers, gave them to the world but the world was not ready or willing to receive them wholeheartedly. God did not create a place like hell; we did and by our unwillingness to do something about our own world while we continuously pursue our selfish ambitions we bring hell into existence. We should realise our own impermanence, curb our desire and show compassion to our fellow beings. Our place in the sun should not be determined by the adversarial circumstances that we placed for our fellow occupants of this planet or by the adversarial pressures that we face. Instead our action should always be determined by compassion and wisdom and to those willing to ponder - Compassion is ultimate love and wisdom is ultimate knowledge; the combination of which will lead us to GOD Himself.

Catholics believe in Purgatory...That's where you go for temporary torment..lol...but then again...That's not written in the Bible so I don't know where that idea came from.If the Christian version of God is truly forgiving he wouldn't send souls to eternal torment in Hell now would he??? All would be allowed to enter Heaven. Then the Buddhists believe our souls are continuously reborn until we have finally reached enlightenment....enlightement is basically their version of Heaven. No more rebirths....you are now detached and in eternal bliss.Karma and how you live or suffer(they have versions of hell as well) decided where and what you will be reborn at/as until you get it right. The Mormons already have Utah...that's their punishment!!! lol

Some people just refuse to get along with others, no matter what.

No matter how nice of a place hell might have started out to be, or where it might actually be located, once you concentrate the most evil scumbags of all time in one place, and forever, the quality of the whole neighborhood goes down hill really fast.

The Bible teaches only one place for human beings. This world is to be our eternal dwelling place. Because of sin, this world was contaminated and marred. But one day God is going to end sin and its consequences, so that those who want to obey Him can live throughout eternity in this world which will be renewed, and then it will be called heaven. Those who refused will be burned together and be turned into their origin, which is dust or earth. That is called hell fire, but not an everlasting burning fire. It can not be quenched until it is doing its job completely, burning all sin and ists root, the devil, into ashes.

Malachi 4:1-3
1 “For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the LORD of hosts,

“ That will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,”
Says the LORD of hosts.
2 Peter 3:10-13
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[c] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

There is no other place. Only this earth, which will be renewed.

That's a good question and I'll tell you why. If there were two places to go after you die, one being great and one being average, you really wouldn't care as much about getting into the better place. Because even if you don't, there's the not-so-great place (like Wisconsin! lol) So where is the motivation for being a soul-dead conformist of the American consumer culture? There is none. They had to create hell to scare people into converting to christianity. it's part of their mind control and it's all BS.
