Medications
Mild painkillers, such as paracetamol or aspirin, can help relieve the pain for some women. However, because some period pain can be caused by an excess of prostaglandins in the uterus, medications which can stop the production of prostaglandins are often very effective in relieving period pain.
Self care
A warm pack, such as a hot water bottle or wheat bag, applied to the abdomen can give relief.
Some women find that a hot drink can help them feel better, especially ginger tea, which can help with cramps and nausea. Mint tea is useful to ease abdominal discomfort if caused by wind.
Visit your doctor
Visit your family doctor if the pain has started after a history of trouble-free periods or is getting worse. It is important to make sure that there is no underlying disorder causing the pain.

On the spot remedy to ease the pain use a hot water bottle wrapped over a towel to prevent scotching. Place it over the abdomen where the pain is. Move the heat around by moving the bottle. Within 30 minutes the pain should ease and you will feel more comfortable.
For long term cure, taking oil of primrose helps to take away the cramp but it is not an overnight cure.

a couple hundred milligrams of ibuprofen, and heat packs They make that sit on your abdomen. Using pads instead of tampons can help a lot too. I would check out health food stores for any herbs or supplements. Massage on a regular basis can also help to cure cramps, though the process takes longer.

Since you have asthma, you should see your gyn for what kind of treatment would help you to help with your pain. You can't take most OC medicines like Aleve, Motrin or Advil, which work for the rest of us. Best to discuss it with a doctor who knows better.
