same thing it says to you? God wanted something and he suffered to get it, so we could have hope in our hopeless situation because we responded to the Love offered to us. Not that we get any credit but that he started the desire in us to respond because he knew us and made a way for us before the world was even formed. Matthew 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
1 Peter 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

same thing it says to everybody else:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sorry for the sarcasm....To me it tells me God's promise of eternal life...and that a belief in Jesus is essential, but at the same time, just the beginning of our walk with God....(Acts 2:38)
We cannot simply have a belief in Him to gain eternal life, but rather believe in Him through everything!! If we truly believe in Him, we will do what he says (John 14:15 and John 15:14). In the book of James 2:19, it tells us that a belief in one God is good, but even the demons believe that!! I think that this verse, considered one of the most popularly quoted/known verses, is a great verse, but when you read it in its context, you will see that Jesus is clear to Nicodemus that we must be born of Water (Baptism) and the Spirit to be born again. :)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

to me it means that we are ALL GOD'S CHILDREN,- his only begotton son could be metaphor for the human race... and that we were given this incredible opportunity to experience the Divinity and Majesty, by recognizing and re-membering it for ourselves...that we come from God, have never been seperated from God, and will always be connected to each other and God.
there is no beginning and no end...eternal life
