the placing of the eyes has to do whether you are a predator or a prey! all preys for example rabbits have the eyes on the sides so that they have more visibility in all directions to be able to detect possible danger sooner! I suppose the ears are on the top so that they can turn in all directions so that they also can hear better (like radars). Predators have their eyes placed directly in the front like lions for example (and humans).
