i might be going on a day trip alone to the south beach of thailand (i'm in bangkok) traveling by bus or maybe stay over at a resort for a night then come back the next day. how risky can it be generally?

It is very risky to travel alone any world in the world whether u r a man or a woman but especially a woman who has no self-defense background. If u do decide to go no matter the risk then I suggest u let several people know where u r going and when u expect to retUrn with instructions that if u don't return or check in with them at a given hour they should inform the authorities immediately, then ur family back home. Also inform the manager of ur hotel and the resort u intend to stay at of ur arrival and departure times and about ur planned itinerary while at the resort outside of Bangkok. Buy the way carry a cell phone close to u if possible for unexpected emergencies. Be safe and God bless.

Hey girl look i got the best answer to this question. Please read this because i guarentee you will be safe if you do this.
1. Look around the markets in Patpong "Red Light District(Bangkok)
2. Buy a Taser from one of those weapon stalls (You know the stalls which sell knuckle dusters and flick knifes, no law saying you cant carry one of these around)
3. Once you have bought the Taser take it with you on your bus trip and if you get into trouble then press the button on the taser and electricute the person that is worrying you. They will be given a shock for about 5 minutes, but it will never kill them so it gives you time to go get help or run away)
How was that for an idea? I rekon thats worth considering girl. tasers are pritty cheap just make sure you charge it the night before.

For a lady to be on a vacation to Thailand (Bangkok) is really very dangerous! Don't risk your life for nothing! Trust me, have a guy with you on this trip!
I was actually having the same thought as you when all my friends told me how dangerous it is to travel alone and especially to countries like Thailand!!!

You should know what happened in the south of Thailand right now. But you head to Puket, I think still OK. Nice beach and people. Take the flight from Bkk to Puket by Thai airway.
but if you are budget travel, go to Ko Samet in Rayong province which is about 3 hrs from Bkk by bus.
Remember, smart travel be always safe.

Girl have you ever watched a Lifetime movie? Its extremely risky! Even bringing along another female companion can be risky, but it would be a whole lot better than going by yourself.

why would you go south to stay only one night. it's a 8 to 12 hour trip to the beaches in the south and then another 8 to 12 hour trip back? Don't make sense.

my advise is dun be alone when travel esp when you a girl and not familiar with the place. even guy go travel alone also even danger sometime. Go with a friends or your bf.

you are already living in thailand, you should know it.
bk is the most danger city in thailand, you should be find out side bk anyway, don't worry too much.
but don't go to far south, you know it, why.
