i have always named my pets with character name that best describes my animals. this is how i named them::
i named my poodle Helga because of the cartoon Hey Arnold because they are both blonde and have alot of hair.
i named my guinea pig chuckles from the cartoon Dave the barbarian because they were both big fat Piggy's and were both mean.
i named my mutt Dalmatian Hershey because of the chocolate( Hershey cookies and cream because she had the same mixed color)
i named my big fat Yorkie rocky from the movie rocky because they are both tough and strong.
i named my other guinea pig chips because when he squeaked, it sounded like if he was saying ''chips''.

Spend some time with your new kitty, at least a week. Get to know his personality. Then get online and google "baby names". Find one that has a meaning that fits his personality and is unique. When I get a new pet, I never name it right away, then I will spend at least a day or two checking out names. I have been very happy with every name I have picked this way.
