Hey, I still do Santa, because in our home, he who does not believe does not receive. My teens still ask me to tell Santa what they'd like to have.

Even though they know, it's still magical!

I don't have kids yet, but my mom is still very sentimental about playing santa. I'm married now and she still buys stocking stuffers for me and signs some gifts Santa. If your kids are still at home, you can still play santa. Maybe they would like to start playing Santa too. When my brother and I were teens we boutght stocking stuffers for our parents and signed one gift "Santa". It was a fun way to keep the spirit of Santa Claus alive.

Why not be a Santa for those less fortunate or volunteer in a hospital? There are MANY people out there who would love your spirit of wanting to keep Santa around!!!

Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Santa is a state of mind! You don't have to give up the fun of 'putting Christmas morning together' because the kids are bigger! in fact in my opinion the older the kids get the more they enjoy the fantasy of Santa. You can have alot of fun with it by hiding the gifts and leaving clues where to find them or put them in box after box after box.....or start a new tradition like playing Christmas morning board games or ???? use your imagination because it's whatever you make of it!
Remember all the fighting and tears over who got what and "I didn't get what I wanted!" and all the mess?
Now you're on a new level, so have fun and don't you dare deny yourself the privilege of enjoying this season to the hilt!....here's what I mean...

My husbands parents came to visit (from Europe) and they had never had the joy of waking up and being overwhelmed with alot of gifts on Christmas morning, so what I did was put up a small tree and a few decorations, with a blanket around the bottom and then put all the wrapped gifts (about 10 or so) around it. We deliberately got them up around 7am and took them to the tree!
They LOVED it! They got the biggest kick out of 'being the kids' and having someone give them the thrill of "Santa"! His mom even had tears in her eyes because she was so touched by this.
So don't give up on that suit just yet.......

Yes I do, and honestly- I dont want to depress you after that loss- the next thing you have to look forward to is grandchildren!-- believe me I'm still waiting my daugthers are 22 and 26 and the oldest is getting married this coming year- but I had a good 15 years without any great Christmas mornings--and wait till they're teenagers--- to save yourself a lot of grief and driving yourself crazy looking for the perfect gift that guess what? they dont even know what it is, get little gift boxes and put money in them - even hide them in the tree, etc. it added fun for me and of course, make it equal otherwise there will be major bickering who got more!--- there is an alternative-- have another child!

This is my first year of being santa-less. I am very sad. I am going to miss it forever. However, I think I am still going to do it anyway, just to make myself feel better.

I've chosen not to do santa with my kids. I taught them that there was a St. nick once that made toys for the kids. He died many years ago and some parents still like to pretend and that's ok. I put the focus on Jesus and giving. It's right for us.

I miss it -- and the looks on my childrens faces when they woke up in the morning and found their goodies under the tree!

If I'm a parent someday, I'll be realistic and tell my kids there is no santa.
