Serious answers, please, folks. I want to know more about why this might happen. What food might be missing in the diet? What might have caused this, etc? The doctor says it's a gastric ulcer, but my mom doesn't feel anything like an ulcer and she has doubts. According to the lab results, they found the bacteria h.pylori in her blood. Has anyone had this problem? She already read in the internet that it might be caused by poor hygiene, but she's a very clean person! Is there some other way she could have gotten this? Is there some way to deal with the symptoms she's experiencing (having a hard time defecating)?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

She could have the ulcer and other reasons.

Could she perhaps been relying on stool softeners, enema's, or other means of passing feces? If these are used too often over time the muscles become weak.

Get a second opinion better safe than sorry.

I have had h.pylori and it is very painful. It causes ulcers so that is why he thinks she has an ulcer. He should have put her on medication for this. Just so you know, your mom will always test positive for h.pylori from now on and it will not mean that she has it. Once you get it once, you will always test postive. I did not have any such problems as you are describing. All I did was go to the bathroom and have severe burning and cramping in my stomach. I have no idea what could be wrong but I would get a second opinion. I think she may have 2 problems going on or possibly testing positive for h.pylori from a previous bout with it. Please keep taking any medications your doctor has given though.

It is true that ulcers are caused by the bacteria H. pylori, however, I'm unsure if what she is experiencing is caused by an ulcer. I never heard of this before. When you deficate, it is a reflex causing this output. It is the final wave of contraction (from the time you ingest somthing until defication). Maybe there is something directly wrong with this reflex.

It could be a hemorroid. Those are the most often causes of blood in poop. If it doesn't go away in about another week then i'd go to the doctors

do a search for IBS. Public broadcasting did a feature on H.O.P.E. it covers a bunch of gastro-intestinal problems.

h. pylori is indicative of the cause of her ulcer. They will give her antibiotics and stomach acid reducers. Hopefully she will heal without surgical intervention.

It sounds like she has rectal dryness. She should use a suppository every day, it will lubricate and help the stool to move out. She should be taking fiber and drinking juices to keep her bowels regular and soft.
